テスラモーターズの自動運転車対応「スーパーコンピューター」を支える NVIDIA DRIVE PX2 テクノロジ

テスラモーターズは、今後、すべてのテスラ車両 (Model S、Model X、発売予定のModel 3) に、完全な自動運転機能を提供できる車載「スーパーコンピューター」を装備すると発表しました。

このコンピューターは、既存システムの 40 倍を超える処理能力をもたらし、テスラ社の開発した視覚、ソナー、レーダー・プロセッシング用のニューラルネットを実行します。

この車載スーパーコンピューターは、NVIDIA DRIVE PX 2 AI コンピューティング・プラットフォームに支えられています。

NVIDIA DRIVE PX 2 は、エンドツーエンドの AI コンピューティング・システムであり、ディープラーニングの画期的なアプローチを利用して、自動車の周囲の状況を知覚し、理解します。

当社のディープラーニング・プラットフォームはオープンであるため、自動車メーカーは最初に、自社のディープニューラルネットワークを GPU スーパーコンピューターで訓練できます。自動車にロードされると、高速でネットワークを処理し、自律走行に必要な、リアルタイムの正確な対応を実現します。

NVIDIA DRIVE PX 2 はすでに、出荷開始しています。

Danny Shapiro

Danny Shapiro is NVIDIA’s Senior Director of Automotive, focusing on solutions that enable faster and better design of automobiles, as well as in-vehicle solutions for infotainment, navigation and driver assistance. He's a 25-year veteran of the computer graphics and semiconductor industries, and has been with NVIDIA since 2009. Prior to NVIDIA, Danny served in marketing, business development and engineering roles at ATI, 3Dlabs, Silicon Graphics and Digital Equipment. He holds a BSE in electrical engineering and computer science from Princeton University and an MBA from the Hass School of Business at UC Berkeley. He lives in Northern California, where his home solar panel system charges his electric car.
